The first thing to consider is the task at hand. You’ll need different attachments when vacuuming stairs, as opposed to a flat surface, or when cleaning furniture instead of carpet. A crevice tool is also an obvious choice for tight spaces such as nooks, corners, and the tracks of window jambs.
Consider Surface Type
Surface type is an important factor when choosing an attachment. Hard floors, tile, wood, and stone often require a different kind of attachment than carpets and rugs. Furniture, drapes, and the tops of cabinets also need combo tools, crevice tools, and specific dedicated brushes.

- You want to eliminate viruses, bacteria, and germs from your flooring (while it’s important to do this all year long, it’s most vital during the cold and flu season).
